Alright so here we are 11 days into the New Year - Are you holding true to your resolutions?

What I had wanted to focus on today was getting in the right mindset for taking control of your finances and your financial future.  It’s a popular themed resolution I hear over and over from friends, family, and colleagues alike – but actioning it is certainly no small feat.  People are constantly asking me what the next ‘big thing’ is and weather now is a good time invest, or should they wait and just keep their money in the bank.  I tell everyone the same thing – any day is a great day to invest if you have the right product that fits YOUR requirements, and there is no such thing as ‘The Next Big Thing’ so stop waiting for it.

With that in mind I had thought I would weigh in on how to make your resolutions become reality – without stress or worry.  This does not happen all on its own of course – you do have to take the first step in making it happen.  It takes careful planning, research, and believe it or not a bit of soul searching.  Before making financial decisions you have to ask yourself ‘WHY’ are you investing and ‘WHAT’ do you want the final result of your investment to be?  Really dig deep and define what you want.   All of us have our own reasons and motivations.  What’s yours?

To put your mind at ease a bit though; no one on the planet wakes up does their stretches and says – ‘Okay today I am going to invest’; that’s the action or the end result of all the pre planning and research.  The resolution might have been ‘This year I want to get my financial house in order’, or ‘This year I want to start to building an investment portfolio’ or perhaps even ‘I want to find some way to generate residual income’.  These are all really great important resolutions that people make year on year, but often never getting around to doing anything about.  Before they know it another year has passed – and they are no where closer to where they had hoped to be.

If you really want to make a go, start taking control of your financial future and hold true to your resolutions then today is the time to take the first step.  All it takes is one email, or phone call to make a huge difference for your tomorrow.
